Hattori goes to the fair (The Festival) (ワッショイ祭りでござるの巻) is episode 197 of the 1981 Ninja Hattori-kun anime.
Hattori takes Kenichi, Shinzo and Shishimaru to the fair - but Kemumaki is also around with Yumeko and Kagechiyo in tow!
Synopsis[]
Hattori, Shinzo and Shishimaru sit on the roof of the house, listening to the procession of the fair. Shinzo asks Hattori if they could go to the fair. Hattori replies positively, but on the condition that they have a traditional Ninja bath, which they do. They also browbeat Kenichi into having one, culminating in him catching a cold.
At the fair, they bump into Yumeko, wearing a skimpy red dress - and with her, Kemumaki and Kagechiyo, who are catching fish in a hook-a-fish-pool. Kemumaki offers to teach Yumeko how to play hook-a-fish, before blowing a raspberry at Kenichi. As Yumeko successfully catches one, she offers Kenichi a chance to play the game- but he unfortunately fails. As Shinzo too fails, Hattori catches all of the fish in just a few seconds, and is cheered on by everyone except Kemumaki and Kagechiyo. He even makes the plump stall owner faint!
At the hoopla game, Yumeko asks Kenichi for a necklace, but Kemumaki catches it before Kenichi gets to move a single muscle. When Kenichi keeps failing, Hattori takes his place. The ninjas have a hoopla match, which ends in Hattori winning and the hoopla stall owner fainting, too!
Later on, the gang go to buy something from a shop - but when one of the shopkeepers sees their prizes, he closes his shop before quickly apologising. Then they see a palanquin and they rush off to join it. Hattori tells Shinzo to bear the weight of prizes before promising him he'll be back in two minutes. Shinzo, who isn't very enthusiastic about being weighed down by millions of boxes, entrusts Shishimaru and Kagechiyo, who nearly collapse with such a heavy load.
